Work is very different to what we are taught at university. We learn a vast range of principles over 4 years - but how much of this is actually relevant?
When you start as an engineer you will be given singular tasks for a project. In the beginning, it isn't straight forward to understand how the building works as a whole. One thing is for sure - everything is easier when you realise how the building works as a whole, all of the individual tasks become much easier to understand.
It can be difficult to know when to ask a question or when to persevere and figure it out yourself. This is an additional resource to use at the very start of your career as an engineer. You will quickly notice the ones who excel are the ones who take the extra time out to develop themselves. This is a 90 minute course and you will become a better engineer and more effective at work - or money back.
Your Instructor
Employed as a Structural Design engineer at WSP in Melbourne. Adam has worked on projects such as 55 Southbank Boulevard Southbank (10 storey CLT extension), Queens Place Melbourne (80 storeys apartments) and Cato St Carpark Redevelopment.
Adam is currently volunteering for Beyond Zero Emissions project 'Industrial Processes Report. Aside from engineering, he is the host of the podcasts What You Will Learn and the Future of Structures on iTunes.
